◎简　　介　
  T% ~( G* N0 w" L! u/ k8 D　一个奇怪的陌生人出现在纽约中央公园车站，当着众人的面说它来自另外一个星球：K-PAX。闻讯而来的警察认为他有神经病，把他送上开往精神病院的火车，交托给了一位和蔼的精神病医生马克（杰夫·布里奇斯）。病人自称Prot（凯文·斯帕西），是个乐观而自信的家伙。他在医院里滔滔不绝地向病友和医生讲述自己在7000光年以外的K-PAX星球上的生活。他的描述是如此逼真生动、细致入微，令马克感到困惑，却给其他的精神病人带来希望。更奇妙的是，有些病人的病情竟在Prot的影响下有了好转，甚至连马克医生自己也觉得通过与Prot的接触，克服了自我怀疑，学会了向亲人表露内心的情感……
　　Prot宣布自己将在夏天结束的时候离开地球，返回K-PAX星球。病友们争相表示要和他同去。预定离开的日子越来越近了，病人们因为即将有机会和外星人接触而越来越兴奋，马克医生却陷入了迷阵，究竟Prot是不是一个精神病人？是该相信自己的科学诊断，还是相信Prot充满自信的陈述？马克甚至对自己分辨现实与幻想的能力也产生了怀疑...

　　该片改编自1995年基恩·布汝尔出版的同名科幻小说，在美国2541家影院首映时，以1750万美元的成绩成为当时北美票房的冠军。片中，以《美国美人》赢得奥斯卡影帝的凯文·斯贝西拥有深沉内敛的演技。此次，他在《K星异客》中饰演一名自称来自K-PAX星球的外星人Port。在《政界风云》中因饰演美国总统而获奥斯卡最佳男配角提名的资深演技派男星杰夫·布里奇斯，则饰演心理医师马克。影片借普络特之口，道出了地球社会的种种弊端。
